MosquitoMate: Reduce Mosquitoes Naturally

A ZAP or WB1 male is a mosquito that carries a naturally-occurring bacterium called ‘Wolbachia’. This bacterium occurs naturally in 60-70% of all insects that are already in your yard.  Our mosquitoes are NOT genetically modified (Non GMO). Male mosquitoes DO NOT BITE and DO NOT transmit disease causing agents. Our MosquitoMate technology is EPA registered and scientifically proven.

They are different types of mosquitoes. ZAP males are ‘Asian Tiger Mosquitoes’ (Aedes albopictus). WB1 males are ‘Yellow Fever Mosquitoes’ (Aedes aegypti). Both are invasive mosquitoes and not native to the USA. Contact us to learn which is right for you.

Invasive mosquitoes are mosquitoes from another region of the world that don’t belong in their new environment. Our targets are the invasive Tiger and Yellow fever mosquitoes from Asia and Africa, respectively. This invasive species is capable of carrying human and pet pathogens (e.g., dog heartworm, Zika, dengue, etc).

MosquitoMate makes the male mosquitoes in our facility. The males are then delivered and released weekly at your property throughout the mosquito season. The male mosquitoes then spend their lives searching your property for female mosquitoes to mate. A female mated with a ZAP or WB1 male will not have any offspring, so your mosquito population goes down.

Yes. And every one of those males is working hard for you as they search for breeding sites and female mosquitoes. Importantly, male mosquitoes DO NOT BITE and cannot transmit disease-causing agents.

No. MosquitoMate males are non GMO.  There are no chemicals or toxins involved in the production or release of our male mosquitoes. Our males are pollinators and will not bite you or your pets.  Birds and fish may even enjoy eating a few!

No. MosquitoMate male mosquitoes will mate with mosquito females that are the same species. The Asian Tiger and Yellow Fever mosquitoes are dawn-to-dusk-biting mosquitoes and the main nuisance mosquitoes in urban areas. If you are getting bitten by a mosquito during the day, it is likely a Tiger or Yellow Fever mosquito. By reducing this mosquito, you will be able to better enjoy your outdoor living spaces and reduce the risk of disease for you, your family and pets.

Yes. Neighbors working together to solve a problem is always a good thing.  Those who live side by side or in front / behind one another can purchase individual plans at a cost savings.  Releasing more MosquitoMate males across a larger area will increase your protection zone and render more breeding sites ineffective, therefore, reducing the number of biting females.  Everybody wins.
